The catch is I cannot move my couch away from the wall. It's physically possible but not an option due to limited space in the room (and I don't want the kids making forts behind the couch). This image shows how I plan on doing it. I'm quite new so keep it simple.

In prior surround sound setups, I've put the surround speakers (direct radiators) on the rear wall, facing down directly toward the couch, creating a bit of a "headphone" effect for the surrounds.
