WebFeb 29, 2024 · Shimmed the new starter, spray painted the teeth on the flexplate and checked for good engagement. Still couldn't get more than 1/2 a tooth engagement but the gears are meshed together better. Sounds way more quiet than the old starter. Don't even ask how long it took me.
