Fixed buffer
WebNov 7, 2011 · For some reason you set the buffer size to the smallest possible value (128). Increasing this will in general increase performance. The default size is 1,024 and other good choices are 512 (the sector size in Windows) or 4,096 (the cluster size in NTFS). You will have to run a benchmark to determine an optimal buffer size. Perhaps the most common version of the circular buffer uses 8-bit bytes as elements. Some implementations of the circular buffer use fixed-length elements that are bigger than 8-bit bytes—16-bit integers for audio buffers, 53-byte ATM cells for telecom buffers, etc. Each item is contiguous and has the correct data alignment, so software reading and writing these values can be faster than software that handles non-contiguous and non-aligned values.

WebThe std.heap.FixedBufferAllocator is an allocator that allocates memory into a fixed buffer, and does not make any heap allocations. This is useful when heap usage is not wanted, for example when writing a kernel. It may also be considered for performance reasons. It will give you the error OutOfMemory if it has run out of bytes.
