Not surprising really when you see how small it is, amazed it lasted 10 years! Washed the bottle out at at the same time, and re-filled using Sonax Clearview. John ---- 2.2 Sport Estorial Blue.

WebDec 8, 2015 · It's in at my local dealer today to be sorted. Under warranty!!! I only have to pay for the BMW screen wash. Edit: It was confirmed that the filter was blocked with gunk and the washer bottle was removed for cleaning. The service desk guy asked if I always used "quality" screen wash. And I do usually mixed at around 50/50 by best guess. Result. WebJul 6, 2012 · Posted July 6, 2012. I also had the same problem with a 3 series. I was caused by gunk accumulating around the filter in the washer tank. It's quite a common fault with BMWs apparently. I fixed mine by unbolting the washer tank, then I removed the pump and filter that's on the side of it, and gave it all a good clean.

WebNov 29, 2013 · Jack up the car, remove front drivers wheel, there are about 8 or 10 fasteners holding in the wheelarch, remove these and the inner arch, bottle is then staring you in the face, the filter is on the end of the motor and simply pops out of the bottle. Clean the filter so its spotless, put all back together and fill with BMW screenwash. Disconnect it there and then use the screen wash function, if water comes out of the open pipe, then your jets are blocked. If they are, get a needle and clear them with it.
